The tunnelling and tunnel lining machine has a cutting shield enclosing an excavating tool (7) and a conveyor (8). This is advanced by hydraulic cylinders (4) acting against a ring (6) behind which a concrete lining (20) is applied. Also behind the ring is a circle of tunnel lining plates (9) which are hollow and which can be filled with hot water. These plates form shuttering members matching the shape of the tunnel and act at the same time as concrete hardening members. Alternately, any type of heating can be used. The heating supply system can be incorporated inside the tunnelling shield, or mounted on a unit behind.
