The continuous centrifugal sorting appts. for streams of granular material includes a flow channel (2, 3) for deflecting the grading flow which is curved inside with a deflecting angle of about 45 deg. to above 180 deg. so that the grain flow is directed in a thin layer into a sorting stream which is diverted in the grading zone (7) and which on the inside adjoins a curved inner deflector wall (1) along the inner above-mentioned deflector angle along which it is not guided by any wall adjoins an outer stream (9) which draws off the coarse fractions. This grading stream runs parallel to the inner deflector wall and the ratio of the radii from the outer to the inner curvature of this current is less than 5:1. At the beginning of the curve of the inner deflector wall the speed of the stream is at least half that of the sorting stream at the feed-in point. After bein split up by the centrifugal force the fine particles are drawn off with the downwardly flowing stream and at most a part of the outer stream and the larger fractions are drawn off with the outer stream and at most a part of the grading stream. The direction of the material stream differs from the sorting stream inside the flow channel by less than 45 deg.
