The double decker bus heating system consists of an engine driven circulation pump (2) a water cooled gear box (4) and a radiator (5). A branch pipe (13) between radiator and gear box leads to a lower deck heat exchanger (14). the radiator has a thermostatically controlled by pass (6) leading to the return flow (7). The upper saloon is provided with a heat exchanger (24) fed by an ascending pipe (23) from the engine and circulating back to the return flow. The feed (23) and return (25) flow pipes are connected to the engine cooling circuit at points of maximum pressure difference. the compensator container (8) is located in the lower saloon at a greater height then that of the heat exchanger (14).
