Intermittent indexing of triangular section tube - providing one third rev. index from one rev. of drive shaft carrying profiled transmission component

An indexing unit for triangular section tubes used in advertising display performs one-third of a revolution index for each revolution of the drive shaft. The tube (1) has three flat surfaces onto which are pasted or glued advertisements. A whole array of such tubes are arranged parallel to each other in a frame and are synchronously indexed. Indexing is performed by a motor rotating a shaft (2) located at right angles to the bars. The indexing transmission unit (4) consists of a formed component with an essentially cylindrical cross-section, with a centre region profited to located on the ridge of the tube. A projecting blade (3) provides the necessary turning movement to index the tube through one-third of a revolution.
