Pressed straw mouldings - produced from straw of specified size and moisture content

Pressed straw mouldings are produced by grinding straw of =2 cm length and with a moisture content of 10-15% (11.5-12.5%). The grinding is continued until the ground material passes a 2 mm screen at the discharge end of the hammer mill. Pressed mouldings of infinite life are obtd. at very low pressures. No bonding agents or other aids are required. There is no risk of spontaneous combustion as it exists in the case of very high pressures.
