Electronic fuel control for IC engine - has speed and load signals fed to multiplier which delivers voltage to comparator emitting injection pulses controlled by reference voltage
An electronic fuel control system for an I.C. engine uses an electronic multiplier which receives a signals proportional to engine speed and to engine load and generates a voltage proportional to their product. A comparator emits a pulse fixing the time of fuel injection and terminates the injection when a saw-tooth voltage generated by the crankshaft is equal respectively to this product voltage and to a reference voltage. This reference voltage is generated by a disc mounted on the crankshaft and provided with slots which are so spaced that the pulses generated are corrected to compensate for the limit of fuel flow of the injection system. An analogue converter changes the pulses to a voltage corresponding to engine speed.
