The cone of concrete, or plastics material has a screwed rod, for distance piece of concrete formwork walls. A hole passing through the cone is the axial direction accommodates the screwed end of the rod immovably in the working position, there being a support plate with a central hole through which the rod passes bearing against the flat end face of the cone. The end of the rod passing through the plate (5) fits directly in the hole in the cone (1), to which it is fixed and sealed. The part of the hole extending from this point to the other end of the cone is of appreciably greater dia. The support plate can be sealed to the end portion of the rod (2) typically by welding.
