The heavy-duty composite constructional component has pre-stressed reinforcement. It is a combination of steel and plastic, with screw connections for prestressing the reinforcing components. Levers may be provided for prestressing these being a scissors-linkage expander mechanism. The reinforcing components, cast into plates, can be prestressed at right angles to the plate surface and towards the plate edges. A pressure is exerted towards the outside, and one towards the inside near the plate centre. Inside the plate the reinforcing components can be arranged round a hollow chamber, and positively joined to each other.
