A binder for magazines or journals with soft covers is made from resilient plastic which has the form of a tube of triangular cross-section but with one of the corners of the triangle left open. In its free state the two sides (1)(3) of the binder touch each other at their outer ends. In order to put a magazine (4) into the binder the sides (1)(3) are forced apart and the magazine (4) inserted. The resilience of the plastic then holds the magazine in place when the binder is placed upright on a shelf. The binder can hold any number of magazines up to a total thickness equal to the width of the spine (2) of the binder.
