Parent patent described a process for improving the quality of continuous casting nozzles in which a finely divided material is introduced into the refractory material of the nozzle to ensure that the refractory material is protected from chemical attack by the covering powder which comes into contact with the nozzle during casting. In this addn., the finely divided material is composed of a refractory oxide, mainly ZrO2 and/or Cr2O3, present in an amt. is not 30 wt. % and pref. is not =10 wt. % of the mixt. The finely divided material is added to refractory materials such as Al2O3, graphite, clay, SiC in nozzle mfr.
