A powder coating comprises either an epoxy resin (I) contg. bisphenol A and hydrogenated bisphenol A rings in a mol. ratio of 5:95-40:60 or glycidyl-p-glycidyl-oxybenzoate (II) and a polyester resin (III) with free carboxy gps. The equiv. wt. ratio of oxirane gps. in (I) or (II) to the carboxy gps. in (III) is 0.5-2.0 In (III) pref. = 70% of the total carboxylic acid component in an aromatic dicarboxylic, =40 mol. % of the total alcohol comprises 4-6C aliphatic diols and 3-30 mol. % of the alcohol comprises a cyclohexane ring contg. polyvalent alcohol. The coatings have excellent weather resistance, corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
