A cosmetic prepn for application to the visible surfaces of the teeth comprising a synthetic resin lacquer and one or more colourants. The lacquer may be self-hardening or a radiation-curing system, esp. a UV curing lacquer comprising 50-65 wt. % bisphenol A glycidyl methacrylate and 50-35 wt. % 3,6-dioxaoctamethylene dimethacrylate. USE/ADVANTAGE - The prepn. allows an adherent coloured coating to be applied to the cleaned and dried teeth eg using a brush. Hardening by UV exposure requires only ca. 20 sec. Any desired colour can be applied for cosmetic purposes when required and the hardened lacquer film can be removed from the teeth relatively easily when so desired. (2pp Dwg.No.O/O)
