Fancy yarn mfr. - uses a chain stitch core to bond effect yarn ranging out in side loops held by the chain stitches

In the contruction of a fancy yarn for use in woven or knitted fabrics, =1 effect yarn is bonded with a core yarn. A line of chain stitches bonds the effect yarn to the core yarn, with the stitches passing through the core. Pref. the effect yarn is laid on the core yarn with side loops, with each connecting section passing through a chain stitch of the core, the loops being of the same or different widths along the length of the fancy yarn. The connecting sections of the loops are laid in successive chain stitches, or =1 blank chain stitch is provided between the loops. The process gives a bonding between the effect yarn and the core yarn without requiring a special bonding yarn, so that a fancy yarn of almost unlimited length can be produced with one or more effect yarns in the same or unequal lengths.
