PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new double ring seams having a thread appearing on the front surface and rear surface of sewn portions of a cloth similarly and a sewing machine to form the seam. ;SOLUTION: A seam is formed of two needle threads A pulled in order, an upper fancy thread C, and a looper thread B. The rear surface of a sewn cloth shows the external appeance same as a double ring seam of one needle and the front surface has the upper fancy thread formed into a closed loop. Two needle threads passing through the loop are pressed against the cloth by two needle threads C and these upper fancy thread C and two needle threads A are arranged in the three row to show the outer appearance similar to the rear surface. A sewing machine to form this seam uses a specially shaped thread swinging means for the upper fancy thread C to form this seam.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
