Aerosol device for solid vaccines - feed and breaker screws deliver material sideways into blower chamber

An aerosol for producing a suspension of particles of solid matter in the air, such as a vaccine for treatment of animals or poultry, has a housing (1) with a hopper (2) for the solid material (15) at the top, discharging onto a screw conveyor (19) mounted inside a block sloping downwards at an angle, and driven by a motor (22) at the end of the block. A second screw shaped member (25) located at the delivery point and driven by a further motor (27) breaks up any lumps. The output of solid material is blown sideways by an air jet (13) into a distributor of known design also fed with compressed air, the entry point to its distributor chamber being level with the sideways discharge opening, and its nozzle pointing upwards at an angle. The delivery motor is of variable speed type to vary the output of the device.
