Dye prepns. contg. thiocyanates of basic dyes - for use on acrylonitrile, cellulose ester and polyester fibres

Dye prepsn. contg. dispersions of thiocyanate salts of basic dyes, with other usual ingredients, are used in dyeing or printing of acrylonitrile, cellulose ester and modified or unmodified polyester fibres. Intense fast shades are obtd. even on unmodified polyester fibres where basic dyes are usually unsuitable. Pref. the basic dyes are of the cyanine or azacyanine series, pref. contg. -CH=CH-, -CH=CH-NR-N=N-CH=, or -N-N- gps. (in which R is H or 1-4C alkyl). The compsns. are prepd. by pptn. as insol. salts by addn. of alkali thiocyanates to aq. solns. of basic dyes.
