A flat plte (2) fixed to the top of a column (1) has a length (3) of square section tubing each side to support a lipped front plate (4). Two other tubes (7), joined by a third larger transverse tube n6), slide inside the fixed tubes to vary the table width. Front corner assemblies are formed by other tubes (11, 12e attached to lipped plates (9) and sliding into tubes (5) under the front plate and over tubes (14) of rear corner assemblies. The latter have lipped plates (10) on pairs of tubes, with rear tubes (16) sliding in the transverse tube (6). these corner assemblies support the feet of a television and allow length and width adjustment of the table with all parts being locked in place by thumb-screws.
