The profile is for use in effecting the double glazing of existing single glazed windows (6), and obtains a definitive seal between existing and secondary glazing. The profile has a groove in which the secondary pane (5) is located and embedded in mastic cording, with a projecting supple tapered flange serving to locate a further mastic cording and bond the profile in the angle formed by the existing pane (6) and the window frame (7). Pref. the profile is equipped to permit the replacement of inter-pane air by a dried gas, e.g. via passages (8) and the profile permits internal or external fitment of the secondary pane.
