The chopper consists of a housing with a neck piece next to an annular collar holding a basket-shaped sieve (6) coaxial to the housing part and fixed to the collar by means of a flange. A sieve wall (9) turns into a radial floor (10) which has an axial gap between it and the back wall of the housing part. a shaft passes through the wall and has on it a preliminary chopper (13), a feeder-blade (14), and two blades, a top one (15) and a bottom one (16), inside the sieve. The top and bottom blades (15, 16) can be at ninety degrees to each other. a radially-outward extending blade (17) is positioned in the axial area between the feedr blade (14) and the top blade (15).
