Maize harvester cutter head - has contra-rotating rollers fitted in front of chopper with fixed counter blade

The cutter head has two contra-rotating feed rollers which are driven about parallel axes and fitted in front of a chopper with a fixed counter blade. The shafts (5, 5') of the feed rollers (6, 6') are arranged transverse to the direction of travel and the rollers are arranged directly in front of the chopper (2, 3) with intermediate connection of further driven feed elements. The feed roller (6') adjacent to the counter blade (2) of the chopper has a smooth roller casing and between this and the counter blade (2) is a feed blade which strips material from the feed roller casing (6'). The guide plates fitted to the feed rollers have no driven feed elements.
