Antidepressant pinic acid di-N-cyclohexyl hydrazide - prepn. and use for treating physical, psychosomatic and painful conditions accompanied by depression

New medicament, esp. for treatment of depressive states and physical, psychosomatic and painful conditions with a depressive component, comprises as active agent pinic acid di-N-cyclohexyl hydrazide (I) of formula (I) is prepd. by (i) reacting neutral ethyl pinate, hydrazine hydrate and absolute ethanol to give 3-hydrazinocarbonyl -2,2-dimethyl-cyclobutane acethydrazide (II); (ii) reacting this prod. with cyclohexanone and acethydrazide to give pinic acid di-N-cyclohexyl hydrazidone (III); (iii) reacting this cpd. with MeOH and NaBH4 to give (I). (I) is an antidepressant of the same type as mono-amine oxidase inhibitors, toxicity is low.
