Charging chute for blast furnace throat - uses rotating funnel and swivel chute for even distribution of the charge

A funnel rotates on a vertical axes above the outlet of the chute, the axis of rotation of the funnel coinciding with the vertical axis of the blast furnace. The chute drive shaft is pref. hollow and surrounds a bar with a stirrup and lever mecanism employed to alter the angle of the chute outlet, the levers passing through holes in the funnel. Cheeks are pref. used to protect the lever mechanism from the dist-laden gases in the blast furnace. The materials fed into the blast furnace can be distributed uniformly over the entire cross-section of the furnace. The chute is very reliable due to the exclusion of dust from the working parts.
