In the mfr. (a) a tubular profile is drawn through a die and cut to length to form a blank; (b) the bore of the blank is reduced at one end and two valve seats sepd. by a spring inserted in the bore; and (c) the other end of the blank is formed, so the two seats and the spring are retained in the bore and an external flange is formed on the blank. A peg may be inserted in the blank to compress the spring during the second forming operation (c), this hole being used to equalise the pressure between the interior and exterior of the core. The core is made entirely of steel with very low mfg. costs. The valve seats float and are also spring loaded.
