The millimetre-wave Schottky diode mixer consists of a waveguide cavity (4) with the diode (1) fixed directly to an insulated lead-through conductor (5). It is connected by a wire circle to the rounded end of a post (3) projecting into the cavity through the opposite wall. A wire (11) is bent into a semicircle and connects diode to post. A second (12) is bent into a semicircle to make a full closed circle with the first wire. The radius, of this circle is r and the wavelength lies between 190r and 210r.
