Transport of new-born or premature infant to intensive care unit - using isothermic shell with upper and lower parts

Device for transporting new-born or premature infants to intensive care units comprises a shell of isothermic material pref. expanded polystyrene in two parts: a lower part which conforms to the shape of the infant, and a lid which covers the infant up to its neck, while leaving its head free. The lower part may comprise a recess in the shape of the body of the baby, while along its side edges is a rim extending above its plane, and a groove neasr the upper edge in a rim so as to allow sealing engagement of the lid. Pref. along the side edges of the lower part, the rim stops at the level of the recess for the body of the infant. The device conserves the heat released by the body of the infant satisftority, and facilitates handling due to its light wt.
