The steam boiler is based on the production of heat by an active fluid subjected to electrocatalytic action in a magnetic field. It has a high calorific efficiency. The boiler has a steam chamber (B) and a liq. chamber (C). The steam chamber (B) has electrodes (A) and a container(B). The steam container (B) is coated with a base layer (B1) of a magnetic and non-corrodible material and also with a porous layer (B2) of flame coated metal and metal oxide materials. The layers (B1, B2) provide a uniform and stable structure giving high calorific and catalytic actions. The chamber (B) has holes (M) to give access between the steam and the liquid. The liquid container (C) has an inlet (F1) and an outlet (F2) catalytic filters. Each filter (F1, F2) has a coil or permanent magnet (G1, G2) on the outside. The electrodes (A) are metallic and coated with vitreous bonded metal or metal oxide powders.
