The stretcher is designed for use with a helicopter and can be loaded onto the fixed support frame from the side. Both units are locked together by means of securing links. The stretcher frame (1) is of tubular construction and has a mattress (3) fitted on top by means of lacing (6). This top frame is separate from the bottom (5) and several vibration dampers (8) are used between the two assemblies. The foot end (10) of the stretcher is higher than the head end (11). The support frame (2) is also of tubular construction and has a flat top (16) for retaining the stretcher, still in the inclined position.
