Insulator support arm (20) consists of a trapezoidal section of symmetrically folded sheet steel, whose top has holes for the isolator (10) fixing screw (11). The sides of the support arm have at their base holes for fixing the arm to damper side plates (30). The flexible damper sleeve is clamped between the side plates and a base plate. The hardness of the material used for the damper sleeve depends upon the forces transmitted by the conductors to the damper. Independent claims are also included for details of the components at the base of the insulator forming the support and fixings for the damper sleeves.
