The histological inclusion appts. for embedding specimens in a liquid paraffin block, uses a single motor-compressor refrigeration group, for both heating and cooling of the liquid paraffin. The compressor (1) forms part of the refrigeration circuit and allows the heating plate (2) for the paraffin and the storage dish (3) to be maintained at a temperature of about 60 degrees centigrade, the temperature being regulated via a thermal probe (4). The evaporator comprises a refrigeration plate (8) held at a temperature of about -5 degrees centigrade and the storage zone (9) for the liquid paraffin blocks held at about 2 degrees centigrade.
