Fire protection equipment is used on a vehicle. It cuts off the electrical supply in the case of a violent shock. There is a generator cut off which is actuated by an inertia operated assembly. The cut off is a relay, which is fed by the generator. The inertia assembly has a sliding weight along the axis of the vehicle and normally held by a spring. When the weight moves under shock action it closes contacts. The contacts are a metal ring in series with the relay coil and the ring is fixed on an insulated block. When the relay coil is disconnected, an audible alarm is set off.
