Mechanical elements control in handling system - uses opto-electronic detector device rendering control independent of mechanical deformation

The positioning of mechanical elements in a controlled handling system is performed using an opto electronic detector to make the control system independent of deformation in the mechanical elements. A rolling platform (10) and its carriage (11) are moved parallel to axes (Ox, Oy) under automatic control from a controller (C) via a fixed laser (L). Opto electronic detectors (20, 21) on directors (12, 13) receive laser beams via semi transparent orientatable mirrors (14, 15, 16). The directors are mounted on rails parallel to movement axes and are positioned automatically. The platform and carriage are moved such that differential detectors (18, 19) in each axis are constantly aligned with mirror (15, 16) axes.
