Grape harvester beater control mechanism - has spring loaded hydraulic jacks which move beaters on meeting increased resistance

Each beater of a grape harvester is pivotally connected to the piston rod of a spring loaded single acting hydraulic jack. The jacks are continuously supplied with oil at a predetermined pressure which may be adjusted. As a beater encounters thicker vegetation this upsets the balance between spring and oil pressure causing the beater to move outwardly. Similarly if the beater encounters less resistance the oil pressure will cause the beater to move inwardly.
