The suction-type street refuse collector vehicle has a chamber mounted on the chassis and in which a vauum is generated via a flat exhaustion grating in the top. At the front and to the side of the chamber there is an inlet, connected to an external suction nozzle and to a pipe inside, the refuse being deposited in the bottom of the chamber after sucking in by the air flow. The grating is at the forward end of the chamber, opposite the inlet, which is at between 10 and 25 deg. to the bottom. The opening in the internal pipe end is chamfered and aimed at a flat plate mounted in the top of the chamber. The pipe length is such, and it slopes rearwards and towards the centre so as to deliver the refuse into the air circulating above the bottom.
