Substd. meta-tri:fluoromethyl-phenyl piperidine cpds. - having antidepressant, antiparkinson and anorexigenic activity

m-Trifluoromethyl phenyl piperidines of formula (I) and their salts are new: (where R is propyl or phenylmethyl). A typical prod. is N-propyl-3-(m-trifluoromethylphenyl)piperidine oxalate. In an example, this was prepd. by treating 3-(m-trifluoromethylphenyl) piperidine with silver oxide and propyl iodide, in acetone at ambient temp. The product was then treated with oxalic acid to form the salt.
