The current limitation circuit is for power amplifiers connected in parallel typically in motor supply system. The circuit prevents overloading of functioning amplifiers when one amplifier fails in a parallel system as occurs when current limiting resistors are used. The limiter is based on the use of a threshold detector (4) which is fed with a voltage which is the difference between the supply and the amplifier (2) output voltages and provides an output when a threshold is exceeded. This output voltage is subtracted from a potential which controls the peak chopper (3) supplying the amplifier group and hence the motor (1) or load proper.
