Electrically heated laboratory oven e.g. a drying cabinet consists of a cabinet to receive the product to be treated, which is heated externally, and fitted with a fan to circulate a gaseous fluid such as air around the inside of the cabinet. The walls of the cabinet are thermally insulated. The cabinet is closed on the on one side by a door. At a certain distance from each of the internal walls of the cabinet a thin lining is placed. The lining consists of a thin wall of material with a low thermal capacity. A layer of air is trapped between the inner wall of the cabinet and the lining wall. The heating timeof the oven is relatively short. The improved heat retention leads to reduced economy consumption.
