Transverse pitched timber frame for chalet - has stub king post and tie in apex to unite rafters with main tie at mid height of framed posts

The transverse timber framing is for use in chalet construction and has an elevated and foreshortened king-post. The frame has two symmetrically inclined principle rafters (1) which converge on an house into a stub king-post (3). A high level horizontal tie (4) completes the apex framing, and the rafters are fixed to the heads of two symmetrically disposed posts (6). At mid-height, the posts mortice onto a principle horizontal tie-beam (9). Both the rafters (1) and the tie-beam (9) cantilever and beyond the posts (6) to be united by a vertical tie (15). The tie extend below the tie beam (9) and two parallel inclined braces (18, 20) completed the wall framing.
