Animal feeding installation for milking parlour - has troughs carried by endless chain between lower feeding position and overhead storage position

A support structure carries upper and lower longitudinal guides for an endless drive chain which passes around a large diameter wheel at one end of the structure and around tensioning and drive sprockets at the other end. The drive sprocket is connected to a motor through a reduction gear. Unitary double troughs providing food for animals at each side of the structure, are secured below the lower run of the chain. The troughs are filled adjacent the large wheel and driven to the other end ready for the animals to feed. After feeding, the chain is driven to take the empty troughs away for storage above the feeding bays.
