The noise limiter is especially for the insides of control slides and reduces the energy of a fluid flow through a constricted cross section. The flow is split up into two stages of constricted cross-section, each of which has a system of noise-damping guide walls so that in each of the stages which are acted upon in series that only a fraction of the total energy released by the flow is to be absorbed or damped. This device can be used in control and regulation valves of cage design where the flap can move within a cage and acts with a seat of the valve housing.
