1505387 Purification of regions of land surrounding water sources AQUATECHNIQUE STERRE SA 7 Nov 1975 [17 June 1975] 46263/75 Heading A5G A process for sterilizing, sanitising and protecting the protection zone of water sources and ground water enrichment plants comprising preparing a mixture of water arid a chemical oxidising agent e.g. ozone or a halogen and/or bactericide e.g. silver ions, distributing the mixture to a plurality of drainage tubes and feeding the mixture through the drainage tubes into the protective zone of the water source. The mixture may be a physical mixture an emulsion or a solution. The mixing and distribution steps preferably are carried out under pressure. Apparatus for use in the above process comprises a water feed having a water inlet, a mixing device for admixture of oxidising agent and/or bactericide with the water, a distributor in which the mixture is distributed to a plurality of drainage tubes and a plurality of drainage tubes which are sunk in the protective zone of the water source.
