1509198 Darts J F HARRIS C J HARRIS and R W WOODHEAD [trading as HARROW'S GAME SHOT] 26 June 1975 [1 July 1974] 29142/74 Heading A6S The shaft 1 of a dart is formed with axial slots 2 to receive a flight 8 and has a part A of its length flared with an increasing diameter towards its end so that movement of a compressed spring 7, towards the shaft end compresses the slotted shaft part to grip the flight. A threaded end 4 of the shaft 1 is screwed into a link shaft 5 of larger diameter so that its end provides an abutment for the spring 7. The link shaft 5 itself screwed into the dart barrel 6, may be replaced by another of different length.
