1512506 Germicidal preparations REWO CHEMISCHE WERKE GmbH 10 March 1975 [27 March 1974] 13526/74 Heading A5B [Also in Divisions C2 and C5] A cleaning and/or germicidal preparation comprises one or more compounds of the formula:- wherein RSP1/SP represents a straight or branched chain saturated or ethylenically unsaturated (C 6 to C 18 ) aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon radical, RSP2/SP, RSP3/SP, RSP4/SP and RSP5/SP are H or a straight or branched saturated (C 1 to C 6 ) aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon radical or a straight or branched ethylenically unsaturated (C 2 to C 6 ) aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon radical; the radicals RSP1/SP, RSP2/SP, RSP3/SP, RSP4/SP and RSP5/SP having a total of from 6 to 24 C atoms; RSP6/SP represents a straight or branched saturated divalent (C 1 to C 6 ) aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon radical or a straight or branched ethylenically unsaturated divalent (C 2 to C 6 ) aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon radical, X represents a salt-forming cation, and n is the valency of said cation; in association with a carrier or diluent. Other anionic surfaceactive agents and nonionic and ampholytic surface-active agents may also be present in the preparations. In Examples 3 to 6, germicidal hair shampoos are prepared, the compound of the above formula being in each Example sodium S-(p-n-dodecyl-benzyl) thiosulphate and being in association with triethanolamine lauryl sulphate (Example 3), sodium lauryl triglycol ether sulphate and N- lauryl diethanolamine (Example 4), the Na salt of the sulphosuccinic acid monoester of lauryl alcohol triglycol ether (Example 5), and a compound of formula in Example 6.
