1517781 Pseudo-random pulse generators MARCONI CO Ltd 28 July 1975 [26 July 1974] 31411/75 Heading G4D In order to increase the maximum speed of a pseudo-random pulse generator of the kind comprising a shift register with feedback from selected stages via an exclusive-OR gate a delay line is placed between the output of the exclusive OR gate and the input of the first stage of the register, the delay being equal to the clock interval less the delay imposed by the exclusive-OR gate. The delay line effectively replaces one stage of the usual shift register, the combined delay of the gate and delay line being equivalent to the missing stage. The delay. line which may be a length of coaxial cable may replace several stages of the register.
