1518490 Change-speed gearing KLOCKNER HUMBOLDT DEUTZ AG 13 May 1977 [20 May 1976] 20274/77 Heading F2D A change-speed gearbox arrangement comprises a first gearchange section 6 having an input shaft 5, a layshaft 10 and an output shaft 9 drivable at one of five ratios from shaft 5 through various gears and clutches and a second gearchange section 7 comprising shaft 9 as its input shaft and a final output shaft 26, shaft 26 being driven from shaft 9 in reverse (through a shaft 31), or in one of three normal forward ratios or two crawler ratios, the crawler ratios being via planetary gearing 49 and a crawling layshaft assembly 42. The planetary gearing 49 has a ring gear 63 slidable into mesh with a fixed member or into mesh with the planet carrier 61 for the two speeds, the latter action locking-up the planet gearing 49. The planet gearing 49 (Figs. 2 and 3, not shown) is readily interchangeable with a normal layshaft to facilitate change of the gearing ratios and provides a compact assembly. The input is through a double clutch, a P.T.O. being provided.
