ELECTRODE FOR INTERFACIAL ELECTROCHEMISTRY

PURPOSE:Three dimensional, net-type, porous metallic body is embedded within proper synthetic insulating resin. The surface of which is polished so as to expose discrete metal portions from the resin surface. Such work provdes an electrochemical interfacial electrode of relatively small area, having electrodes thereon uniformly distributed over the contacting area of treating medium. CONSTITUTION:Three dimensional, net-type, porous metallic body of Ni, Cu, etc. having skeleton 2 and pores 1 in irregular way is placed in a container. Into the container, a liquid, insulating, synthetic resin is poured to fill the pores 1 and the resin is solidified. Then the solid surface is polished to expose the metallic skeleton 2 from the resin surface 3, resulting in an electrochemical interfacial electrode. Within the electrode 5, the skeleton 2 is electrically connected, whereby the electric feed is needed only to a lead 4 and another point.
