PURPOSE:To provide an electric piano which generates the tone similar to that of a cembalo with a simple constitution by processing sound source signals with a higher harmonic generating circuit, filter, etc. CONSTITUTION:When the sound source signals corresponding to the striking vibrations of the electric piano detected with a pickup 1 are applied to a higher harmonic generating circuit 2, the circuit 2 makes multiplication processing of the signals and generates a multiplicity of higher harmonic signals for the basic waves of the sound source signals. When these signals are processed with a special filter 3 being an HPF of high vibration characteristics, they are removed of unnecessary frequency components and become the musical tone signal corresponding to that of the cembalo formed with higher harmonic components. The similar results may also be obtained even if the multiplication processing is accomplished with a voltage control type amplifier.
