USE OF DI- (CYCLOHEXYL-ETHYLMETHYL) OR DI- (ETHYLCYCLOHEXYLMETHYL) PHTHALATES AS PLASTICIZERS FOR POLY (VINYL CHLORIDE)

In a method of plasticizing polyvinyl chloride by adding a plasticizer to polyvinyl chloride, an improvement is provided wherein the plasticizer is a di-(cyclohexylethylmethylol) phthalate or a di-(ethylcyclohexylmethylol) phthalate of the formula IMAGE wherein R is ethyl or hydrogen; R1 is methyl or hydrogen; and n is an integer of 0-2; and when n is 2, R is H and R1 is H; when n is 0, R is ethyl and R1 is H, and when n is 1, R1 is methyl and R is H; the two alcohol radicals being the same or different.
