The equipment recovers carbon dioxide gas remaining behind in a vessel, e.g. an empty beer barrel. It comprises a collector tank (3) with a compressor (1), from which a suction pipe (12) runs via a pressurestat (2) and a moisture separator (7) to the barrel etc. (9). The pressure discharge pipe (11) is connected to the collector tank, which is equipped with a reducing valve (5), connected via a further pipe (19) to a full beer barrel. A carbon dioxide bottle (15) can be connected via a valve (16) to the collector tank, the valve being connected to a pressure gauge (6).
