Dental reconstitution compsns. based on organic resin - with mineral filler contg. fluorocarbon polymer

Compsns. (fillings, cements, etc) comprises (a) 50-90 (pref. 65-85) pts.wt. of filler and (b) 50-10 (pref. 35-15) pts. wt. of a polymerisable liq. organic resin binder. The filler comprises finely divided mineral particles mixed with 1-10 (pref. 1-5) wt.% of a fluorinated or chlorofluorinated hydrocarbon polymer (I). The filler pref. comprises a mixt. of 95-99 wt.% amorphous SiO2 and 1-5 wt.% polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). Standard binders (esp. acrylic resins) and other additives can be used. Component (I) greatly reduces wear caused by abrasion with adjacent teeth.
