An easily disintegrating detergent-builder agglomerate, which contains from 10 to 90% by weight of a finely divided zeolite which exchanges calcium ions, from 10 to 90% by weight of a binder for the said zeolite particles, the binder being selected from the group consisting of water-soluble starches, non-ionic surfactants, various gums, sugars, synthetic organic polymers and mixtures thereof, and optionally up to 10% by weight of water, the said agglomerate particles having a sieve number of 4 to 180 meshes of the US standard sieve series. The agglomerates can be prepared by mixing in a drum or another suitable mixing of the finely divided zeolite particles with the binder in the presence of a small amount of moisture. Such agglomerates disintegrate easily if they are stirred with water and are specially useful in high-performance detergent compositions, in which the zeolite of the agglomerates makes up the entire or a substantial amount of the builder content.
